In August the team started in Division B In the Oxfordshire Youth League but after a strong start have already been promoted to the A division.

However, that’s not all! On Saturday the team progressed to the next round of the cup after a 2-0 win.

We spoke to Manager Phil Langley to catch up with how the team have developed in such a short space of time!

“We couldn't have asked for more from the team.” Said Phil.

“We’ve had a highly successful start with only one league defeat in the Autumn season, which has led to us getting promoted and reaching the Trophy Cup semi final on first attempt.

“We put the U10 Blues team together at the start of the season in September. The boys came from different teams, playing at different levels with different approaches.

“Many have had to adapt to playing at a higher level, for new coaches and in a new style. They’ve coped incredibly well. While we’ve had our challenges, the team has learnt quickly and taken on board the new approach. It’s been a joy seeing the team bond and develop.

“Our league match against Donnington was the point at which everything we had been working on in training came together. The team really clicked, communication on the pitch was excellent and they played to their full potential for the first time and playing and training on the Oxford City 4G pitches is of great benefit as it helps to improve the players technique on a great surface.”
