Oxford City FC has given a new name to its grandstand positioned behind both dugouts after entering a multi-year partnership with local tree surgeon specialists AJB Tree Care.
The 577-capacity viewing area will be known as The Woodland Stand for three years after AJB Tree Care upgraded its relationship with the club following Hoops’ promotion to the National League for the first time in its history.
In addition to backing The Woodland Stand, AJB Tree Care staff have played a key role onsite at the RAW Charging Stadium through the off-season by clearing grounds to make way for two new grandstands.
Work was commissioned by the football club as part of the facility’s ongoing development to meet Football League stadium criteria by the conclusion of March 2024.
Adam Bridgeman, Founder and Director of AJB Treecare, said: “There is a terrific feel-good factor around Oxford City FC right now as the club continues its first campaign in the National League.
“The achievements of last season on the pitch were extraordinary, but off it there remains a real commitment to the local community which aligns with our core values. We’re fortunate to witness this first-hand every week with our eldest daughter representing Hoops’ U7s which she loves.
“Our hard-working team have enjoyed playing a small role in the club’s transition from National League South to National League football and we look forward to supporting Ross and the squad through the rest of the campaign.”
Based in Worminghall, AJB Tree Care was founded in 2012 by Adam who started his career as a labourer.
Supported by his wife Eleanor, the company now employs 20 staff who deliver all aspects of tree works from surveys to stump grinding, site clearance, fencing, planting and more.
It prides itself on delivering a professional, efficient and cost-effective service to clients across Oxfordshire with plans to expand further into Hertfordshire owing to demand.
Caroline O’Connor, Partnerships Manager at Oxford City FC, added: “We’re really grateful to AJB Tree Care and Adam for their continued support of our entire operation.
“The Woodland Stand will continue to serve as a viewing spot which places supporters at the very heart of the action right next to the dugouts.
"A lot of work took place behind the scenes during the off-season and AJB Tree Care’s help to clear space ready for two new stands played a really important role.
“We look forward to seeing Adam and his colleagues pitch side through the remainder of the season and strengthening our existing partnership.”
