Oxford City Women’s Manager Connor Walton is hoping that his team can book their place in the Oxfordshire Women’s Cup final after a positive week on the training ground.
The previous cup-tie between City and their opponents Oxford University was abandoned after a power-cut caused floodlight failure with the score at 0-1.
However, Walton has said that the team are up for their second attempt but will need to match their opponents in ‘every area’ if they are to book their final spot.
“I’m looking forward to the game.” Said Walton.
“It’s definitely a big challenge for our girls. They need to make sure they do the job on the field and apply themselves on the training pitch.
“We’re up for it, but we’ll have to match them in every area.
“I think it’s a huge opportunity for our ladies to express themselves and show how they can play. It’s also a huge opportunity to get to a cup final.
“This week we’ve been training well, and hopefully we can put those final bits and pieces of preparation done ahead of Sunday’s game.”
