“We knew how difficult of a game it would be, they’re top of the league and are full of really good players and they’re an excellent club.”
“We’re entering into a really difficult phase of our season in terms of who we are playing, and Dartford was the first game.”
“We knew that we needed a huge effort to try and combat what they do and coming out with a point, I think in the big scheme of things is a decent result for us.”
“It’s tinged with some opportunities that we had and didn’t manage to take. Often one or twice in previous matches we have managed to make a difference in those areas.”
City had chances to potentially win the game in both halves, but likewise so did Dartford. Ben Dudzinski and co. had to work superbly at the back to maintain the clean sheet and walk away with the point.
“But having said that, we had to block, and we had to clear off the line, and we had to really dig deep and come out with a point.”
“The boys come, they spend the effort and the time and really try, and put their bodies on the line.”
“We had to make sure we were as organised as we can, but as energetic and as willing as the players show.”
Oldfield will want to keep improving on each performance week in week out irrespective of the scorelines, and with a tricky run of fixtures up ahead, this demand will only increase, especially as the Hoops are looking to push for promotion.
“We need to make sure we get even better, look at the bits we can do better at, and the bit’s we’re strong at.”
“There’s one or two players that haven’t played a huge amount of football in our first team, and we want to make sure that they are very much part of it.”
“We need to make sure everybody is up to speed and fitness.”
City return home at the weekend with another tough fixture. This time it’s up against Dulwich Hamlet who currently sit joint on points with the Hoops. We look forward to seeing as many people here at the game as possible.
