The newly-promoted Ambers haven't had the rub of the green in VNLS so far this season, winning only four games so far this season and losing the rest.
City on the other hand have been performing well but haven't found the clinical finishing needed to turn positive performances into wins.
For the hosts, three points could potentially lift them above relegation rivals Hungerford Town but more importantly, two points off of Dulwich Hamlet, who sit outside the drop zone.
The Hoops will be hoping for three points for a completely different reason, with a win potentially lifting them into the play-off places.
This is the first time the two sides have played each other in the National League but last met in 2004/05 in the Isthmian League.
The Ambers remarkably haven't drawn a game this season. Unfortunately though, they've lost fourteen times this season, more than any other team. After a win on the opening day against Hampton, Cheshunt slumped to an extraordinary ten defeats on the trot.
Despite that, half of their wins have come in the last five games. A huge win away at Hungerford boosted their survival chances and despite defeats to Havant & Waterlooville, Eastbourne and Taunton, another win against Chippenham has shown that the Ambers are up for the fight!
Cheshunt have used twice as many players as City have this season, so they'll be looking to their depth for a big three points.
Consistently inconsistent could be the phrase to describe the Hoops at this stage of the season.
Ross Jenkins' side have displayed a number of positive performances in recent weeks against the likes of Fleetwood, Worthing, Dover and Dartford, but the issue seems to be finding the net.
Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Dartford means that City have taken points off of the top three in VNLS, something that shouldn't be ignored.
The task now for the Hoops is finding their finishing touch to partner the performance.
If Cheshunt need someone to help them survive this season, Ken Charles could be their man!
The striker personally picked up three points for the Ambers against Chippenham, scoring an impressive hat-trick to secure a vital three points.
This is the striker's second spell at the club after previously leaving to join Kings Lynn Town and now Cheshunt fans will be looking to him to be the difference on Saturday.
“I don’t think results have gone their way throughout the season but they’ve picked up some good results leading into our game.”
“It’s a difficult place to go to because it’s unknown territory for us. Some of the players haven’t been there so it’s going to be a challenge.
