Oxford City manager Sam Cox previews City's final Pre-Season Friendly when the Hoops welcome Braintree Town to Court Place Farm.
Despite its friendly status, Oxford City Manager Sam Cox is looking for a positive performance from his Hoops side in their final pre-season fixture against Braintree Town.
Time has flown by since Cox was selected as the new man to take the club forward, and ever since, the foundations have started to be built ahead of the new National League North season.
So, heading into the season opener, Cox is looking for a performance from his side in each of the eleven positions up for grabs.
He told www.oxfordcityfc.co.uk, “It’s nice to end (Pre-Season) against a club that I think are quite similar."
"Braintree have been recently promoted to the National League and had a really successful season, so it’s going to be a real challenge for us.
“This friendly has come at a perfect time for us and we’re really going to go for it.
“We’ve got our minds on the 10th of August and we’re going to try and put everything into practice tomorrow.
“We’re at the stage in pre-season where there has to be a consciousness of having a winning mentality and we’ve been trying to get that into the boys in training.
“Tomorrow, we’re playing for shirts, so it has to feel like a matchday. The overall performance is what we’re looking for”.
