Oxford City sign Cardo Siddik
Centre-half joins the Hoops.
Oxford City are delighted to announce the signing of central defender Cardo Siddik.
The 21-year-old defender joins the Hoops after impressing whilst on trial throughout pre-season.
A 6ft 3in centre-half, Siddik came through Crystal Palace's academy, appearing for the Eagles' first-team in pre-season matches vs Liverpool & Manchester United.
He spent last season with fellow National League North side Darlington. He will now bolster Sam Cox's options at the back and will wear the number 12 shirt this season.
After signing his new deal, Cardo told www.oxfordcityfc.co.uk : “I've been here for almost three weeks now and played four games, so i've got to know the lads a bit.
"The one thing that stood out to me was that there's a modern, progressive style of play and that's something that I like and plays to my strengths.
"The environment that's in place here is good, you can speak up and ask questions and everyone will hear you out."

Siddik joined Crystal Palace's academy aged 15 and rose through the academy ranks at Selhurst Park.
He was highly-rated in South London, and he went on to feature in the first-team during pre-season against Liverpool & Manchester United.
He made his full debut for Palace in the EFL Trophy, appearing against Swindon Town in the competition. He has also represented his country Iraq at U23 level.
However, Cardo's spell at Selhurst Park was cut-short due to a bad hamstring tear and he was released at the end of the 2022/23 season.
After returning to full fitness, Siddik impressed whilst on trial with Darlington and earned himself a contract in the North East.
Welcome to Oxford City, Cardo!
