Oxford City FC have a number of exciting opportunities available as the club look to re-launch its catering department.

Chef


The chef will manage the creation, preparation, and delivery of food offerings for matchdays, events and as part of our regular opening as a multi-use site including a full-time football education programme. The successful candidate will be required to work variable workdays dependant on match days and events and to be flexible to meet the demands of the business, including working evenings and weekends.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Production, preparation and cooking of food ensuring all aspects of food production processes are presented to the highest standards.
  • Participating in meetings to identify the daily and weekly business needs and coordinating resources to fulfil business requirements.
  • Management of Catering Assistants. Liaison with bar, events and facility staff.
  • Management of food offerings and staff at multiple food outlets on site. Sourcing affordable, fresh, local (where possible) produce to devise seasonal, varied and healthy menus.
  • Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure required standards are met
  • Assisting in stock control, portion control and quality control whilst maintaining cleanliness of all work and storage areas.
  • Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of all menu items, recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
  • A full understanding of food nutrition to create player and academy food offerings. Following food safety regulations to ensure the maintenance of a five-star food hygiene rating.


CANDIDATE SPECIFICAITON


  • Have experience working as a Chef de Partie (or above) in a sports venue, restaurant, hotel or similar and be able to demonstrate excellent technical skills.
  • Have leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Hold a level 3 certificate in Supervising Food Safety (or equivalent).
  • Be professional and hardworking with a positive demeanour, including when under pressure.
  • Demonstrate a passion for event menu creation, product knowledge and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Be able to operate under pressure and adapt quickly and positively as conditions require.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check with additional vetting.

CATERING ASSISTANTS


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Selling a range of products through catering outlets including drinks, snacks and fast food.
  • Ensuring clean work and serving surfaces and areas Sweeping and mopping of floors at the beginning and ending of shifts.
  • Efficient washing of cookware, utensils, cutlery and service ware fast to keep them in rotation.
  • Preparation of food items for serving Arrangement of disposables for fast service at busy times
  • Unpacking of produce deliveries
  • Disposal of rubbish and recycling at the end of each shift
  • Assist with basic food prep ahead of opening (such as peeling and chopping)
  • Processing orders and payments
  • Maintain a fast-paced experience service ahead of and throughout an event/match day.
  • Manage stock rotation and replenishment procedures.
  • Supporting the close down of catering areas including securing all stock, surfaces are cleared and clean and that all equipment is clean and presented ready for the next service.
  • Coordination of staff food
  • Adhere to Licensing restrictions and enforce a proactive approach to Challenge 25
  • Impeccable listening skills to ensure all orders are taken and processed correctly.
  • Polite, courteous, and friendly, especially at busy pinch point times.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

About Oxford City FC


Oxford City FC, based just minutes from the ring road in Oxford welcomes 80,000 facility users per year. Within the facility there are two football pitches in use across seven days of the week plus six netball courts that bring a heavy footfall during evening hours. A full-time education academy hosts 80 students during weekday day times and weekends bring Men’s and Women’s First Team fixtures, youth tournaments and grassroots football fixtures. When the Men’s first team are at home catering is also served for 20 - 50 hospitality guests. During close season the facility switches to hosting holiday camps, tournaments, and commercial events.
