Zac McEachran opened his account this season with the winning goal at Chelmsford City on Saturday with a tidy left footed volley in the 79th minute. It secured a comeback for the Hoops after falling behind in the first half, and meant City took all 3 points home with them from the Melbourne Stadium. McEachran gave us his thoughts on the game following the full-time whistle.
“I’m delighted it’s gone in to be honest. The ball over from Ashby was a good one.”
“I got my left foot on it and just cushioned it into the goal.”
McEachran is known for his excellent footwork and playmaking ability, but he normally notches several times a season. However after 416 days the City number 10 found the back of the net again, and did so to clinch the game against Chelmsford and take maximum points.
“All the boys get on to me for not scoring and it’s at the back of my mind every game and I’m just delighted to get off the mark.”
“I’m buzzing to get the 3 points and to go again next Saturday.”
The attacking midfielder has been a real outlet for City this season, having been at the centre of many attacking plays and creative moves. His Messi-esque style of dribbling often proves difficult for opposition to defend against, and it’s shown many times this season.
“Every game is hard, and it’s hard to get on the ball whether they have 10 or 11 men.”
“The mood is buzzing in the dressing room at the minute.”
City return home at the weekend as they face Tonbridge Angels at the Velocity Stadium and we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
C’mon you Hoops!
