ALIYAH ANTHONY | I'M EXPECTING A TOUGH GAME

Oxford City Women’s Manager Aliyah Anthony is hoping that her side can put back to back wins together in the Southern Regional Women’s Premier League Premier Division when her side face Eastleigh at the weekend (Sunday 15th January 2pm).

A 4-0 thrashing over Winchester Flyers saw City return to action in the perfect way after the Christmas break, but now the challenge is to keep the run going and keep rising up the table.

The previous encounter between the two sides proved to be one of the games of the season after the Hoops emerged victorious after a 3-2 victory on the South Coast and Anthony is hoping for more of the same on Sunday.

“Sunday’s win was fantastic and the spirit in the group is really high, but we’ve got to put that behind us now and concentrate on Sunday.” Said Anthony.

“We’re privileged to play on the 4G pitches at City but other teams in the league aren’t as lucky so it’s important that we capitalise whilst they’re all still catching up.

“The game at Eastleigh was a tough one but we showed grit and determination to go ahead and stay ahead, we’ll need more of that mentality.

“It was a tight game, and maybe they’ll arrive with that in the back of their minds and wanting to get back at us, so I’m expecting a tough game.”

You can watch Oxford City Women’s game with Eastleigh for FREE this Sunday at the RAW Charging Stadium. Furthermore, OCFC season ticket holders get 10% off at the 1882 Bar.

We’d love to see as many Hoops fans down at the stadium supporting the girls!
