MATCH REPORT: Oxford City 1-0 Ebbsfleet Utd
A Reece Fleet wonder strike secured a huge three points for Oxford City as the Hoops beat Ebbsfleet United 1-0 at the Velocity Stadium.
Fleet's volley on the stroke of half-time sent City into the interval ahead and a fantastic defensive performance secured another clean-sheet and extended the Hoops' unbeaten run in National League South to nine games.
Tobi Adebayo-Rowling was sent-off for the visitors later in the game.
City started off the brighter of the two sides. Chances from both George Harmon and Joe Iaciofano went close to opening the scoring, Harmon skimming the top of the bar with his shot and Iaciofano's chance blocked by 'Fleet Goalkeeper Chris Haigh.
With twelve minutes gone, United thought they broken the deadlock. A shot by Alfie Egan was parried by Ben Dudzinksi into the path of the oncoming Dominic Poleon however, his tap-in was ruled out for offside.
City replied with a penetrating move. Reece Fleet gained possession just inside the Hoops half and sprayed a cross field ball into the path of Harry Kyprianou. His subsequent shot was well-saved by Haigh to keep it level.
Ebbsfleet fought back again again through Joe Martin. His free-kick on the edge of the Hoops box was fired over the wall but Dudzinski was there to calmly roll to his left and collect the ball.
Then came the spectacular! City broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime with a sublime first-time volley by Fleet. He picked the ball up 20-yards away from goal and connected with his shot perfectly and sailed into the top right-hand corner of the Reds net giving Haigh no chance.

Five-minutes after the restart, Rakish Bingham was left wondering how the scores weren't level. His rifled goal-bound shot from the edge of the box looked destined for the goal. However, a remarkable fingertip save from Dudzinski pushed the ball onto the bar to deny the forward.
City held their own in the second-half and rode a barrage of attacks thrown at them by Ebbsfleet. One of which coming from man of the match, Dan Matsuzaka, whose toe-poke block skimmed the outside Dudzinkski’s post after he cleared the danger..
An already tense match reached boiling point in the 83rd minute as Ebbsfleet were reduced to 10-men, following Tobi Adebayo-Rowling being shown a straight red card after head-butting Fleet in a scuffle near the City corner flag.
The final chance of the game fell to the visitors, Chris Solly nodded the ball into the 6-yard box but an out-stretching Bingham shot sailed over the bar to the relief of the home support.
